What if our sun is replaced by UY Scuti? | The red gaint

Largest star in the universe

Our universe consists of countless amazing things which can push you in trouble, and compelled you to think How and Why? One of which is UY SCUTI, the biggest star known. 

The Biggest Monster Star 

UY scuti is the largest red giant star in the universe. Yes, it is the largest known star ever discovered in our astronomical history. It was first observed by German Astronomers in 1860 at that time it was named 'BD 125055' but when it was observed for the second time then its name changed to UY SCUTI. It is located at the Scutum constellation and it is at a distance of approximately 9500 light-years away from our solar system. This means that if you want to visit there even at the speed of light then it would take 9500 years from now which is impossible for Today. It is very close to our Supermassive Black Hole Sagittarius A. Till now there's no evidence of any exoplanets in its orbit. 

When it will be in its last stage of its life cycle then it will be converted into a Supernova, but yet it'll be the largest one. But relax it'll take millions of years to happen.

The Size Comparison 

Now let's talk about its actual size. For better understanding let's take an example of our solar system.  Suppose the size of the earth as 1 cm then the size of our sun (it is 864,000 miles (1,392,000 km) in diameter) is approximately  109 cm in comparison to earth at this scale. This means that it is so large that approximately 1,300,000 Earths could fit inside of it. But in the case of UY SCUTI, 1700 ( radius=1188,426,400 km)  times larger than the sun's radius it is meaningless to compare. 

Let's take another example for better understanding. Suppose you are in a spaceship that is traveling at the speed of light and suddenly you decide for a round trip of our Sun then it would take only 14.5 seconds for one revolution whereas if you go for a round trip of UY SCUTI then it would take 7 hrs at speed of light, isn't it thrilling?

Now you can imagine how big the UY SCUTI is? 
 If somehow it is possible to place the sun near the UY SCUTIthen the sun's size has no meaning. It is quite interesting to know that there is only one criterion in which the sun wins with UY SCUTI, temperature. The temperature of the sun is 5778 K whereas UY Scuti has 3365K. 

It is meaningless for the size comparison between Earth and UY Scuti yet there is a number if count them. 6540,000,000,000,000 Earths could fit inside it (6 quadrillion 489 trillions earth). 

 If our sun is replaced by UY Scuti?

If the sun is replaced by the red supergiant  UY Scuti in the center of the solar system, its photosphere would extend just beyond the orbit of Jupiter. The nebula of gas stripped from the star extends even farther out, beyond the orbit of Pluto to 400 times the Earth-sun distance. This means that it swallows the inner planets( mercury, venus, earth, and Mars) including the asteroid belt on Jupiter too. Don't worry it's never going to happen.
