Is Our World Not Real But A Computer Simulation? | Simulated Reality

Simulation Hypothesis

Introduction

Is the world you are living in reality? Before you further go into a dilemma, let me tell you that many scientists believe that our world can be a computer simulation rather than a real one. In Hindu belief, Lord Shri Krishna says that this world is an illusion. Greek philosopher Pluto believed that whatever we can see or hear can be unreal, according to him, our world is just a reflection of the real world. In the year 2012 a Sweden philosopher 'Nick' laid the foundation of the Simulation Hypothesis, according to which we can be part of the simulation program of any most advanced civilization. So, let's begin the journey.

What is Reality?

What you see is real or what you hear is real or what you feel is real? If you think that reality is based on these things then you are wrong. Actually when you see something or hear a sound then your eyes and ears send an electric signal to your brain, based on which it makes you feel.

The brain has so much potential that it can show you anything and you will accept it as true. For example, your dreams, when you are dreaming, then you feel that everything is true. You know the reality only when you woke up. Another best example is hallucinations in which patients not only see dead people but also talk to them.

In such a situation, the question arises can we trust our minds?  Is this world not real but a computer simulation? Well, those who follow the simulation hypothesis believe the same. But why do they believe in it? Let's know about it.

The origin of life is a complex process. But have you ever imagined why the Earth is so perfect for the creation of life? Whether we talk about its distance from the sun or the gaseous mixture in the environment? Why everything is so perfect? You must be thinking that there can be life on another planet too? Of course, it is possible, but on this, let me tell you that if the dark energy was a little stronger, neither the Earth would not have life on nor any planet has in the universe. The Enthropic principle asks, why everything is so perfect? Have they been made perfect so that we can be given life?

To understand any mystery present in the universe, we need maths or we can say that the whole universe can be understood by maths itself. And the maths can be converted into computer code. It means that for every object in the universe that exists, simulation can be made. Till now we are capable of making a simulation of this world, but we fail to make a simulation of the consciousness that exists in humans. Maybe after thousands of years from now, it is possible to do this. If this is possible, then it is also possible that an advanced civilization has already done this with us.

String theory is considered to be the best to understand the universe before the big bang. But interestingly, this theory has shown that there is already a computer code in the universe that emphasizes that our world is a computer simulation.

Our Ability For Making Simulations

Today we have developed so much that we are also using Simulations. As an example, to study the universe where we cannot reach, we use a simulated model of that place. In such models, like light, gravity, energy, etc., all are simulated. The second example is history simulated games like 'Vikings' make us feel, being present in history. There are also some simulations that are designed to understand the development of human beings.

If we talk about 'virtual reality then this also makes us feel a different world while that world is simulated.

It is quite possible that we can make a simulation of a complex human being who has the ability to think for himself. Elon Musk and Bill Gates believe that the chances of our world being real are very less.

Theories Which Supports Simulation Hypothesis

Visible Flaws
No matter how perfect the simulations can be, there can be always some errors. If this world is not real but a computer simulation, then what errors can we see? The best answer anyone can imagine is 'Déjà Vu. A situation in which an event or a human being seems familiar, whereas you have never met such an event before, nor have you ever met that person or supernatural things that may be the result of a technical glitch. According to the Simulation Hypothesis, these are all due to the pulse present in the simulation world.

The Parallel Universe Theory
If the theory of the Parallel Universe is correct, then there are many universes that include every kind of possibility.  (If you want to know more about Parallel Universe, then our article 'You Are Already Dead | Parallel Universe Explained' is for you.) But the question is, why do so many universes? According to the simulation hypothesis, all these universes are different simulations that have been run simultaneously, or all the simulations have been changed slightly or completely so that it can be understood what differences these changes result.

Is God A Programmer?

People have been saying for centuries that God has created this world. According to the simulation hypothesis that what we call God can actually be a programmer who has created this world from computer code. According to Bible God has created the world in only 7 days, which is absolutely possible with a computer. But here the question arises why did God make the world? Maybe he wants to see how civilization develops?

You must have noticed that people MEDITATE. But why? The answer is very simple, they do so because they want to get out of this cycle of life and death and want to see the real world. According to the Simulation Hypothesis such simulations that come to know the real truth of this life, the programmer (God) deletes that simulation.

Conclusion

If somehow we consider the simulation hypothesis is true, then another question arises in the mind what is outside this universe? If the simulation hypothesis were to be true, then another question arises in the mind what is outside this universe? According to the simulation hypothesis, there could be many supercomputers and highly developed beings operating them. Oops! Again another question arises if our world can be a simulation, then what is the possibility that that world should not be a simulation? The simulation hypothesis says that the world of those who are running our world can also be Simulated and the world which is running them can also be simulated. This way it is quite difficult to measure the truth.
You must have surely seen The matrix movie, in which Simulated world has also been shown. Now give me an answer with reference to that movie, Who is the one? Keep in mind that most of you people give the wrong answers.
If you are interested in Simulations Hypothesis then definitely watch 'The thirteenth-floor movie

Now we have learned about the simulation hypothesis, then this question must surely arise in your mind, whether this world is really a simulation? Actually, this question has no answer. If somehow we come to know that our world is a simulation and we are simulated beings too then it will be quite terrifying for us.
